We are an Operation Encompass School
Tue 01 Mar 2022Allens Croft Primary School will be taking part in a joint operation involving Birmingham Children’s Trust, Birmingham City Council, and West Midlands Police. This will formally be known as Operation Encompass.
Operation Encompass has been established to help schools provide in-school support to children who have been present at, exposed to or involved in any domestic abuse incident.
We know that children can be significantly harmed, physically and/or emotionally, during these situations, and that it also negatively affects their learning and behaviour in class.
Therefore, as part of the Operation Encompass procedure, and to help mitigate the resulting negative impact, the school will now receive a confidential phone call or email from West Midlands Police before 9am the morning after a child or young person has been witness to, or involved in, any reported domestic abuse incident.
Here at Allens Croft Primary School we have a dedicated and child-focussed Safeguarding Team. They are specially trained to effectively use the information the Police share, in confidence, and enable the school to provide the right support to any child and their family.
We always endeavour to offer the best support possible to our pupils and believe this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved.

Wed 01 Apr 2020We hope you are all well and keeping as safe as you possibly can and that you and your family are settling into the second week of school closures. The school premises will not be open over the Easter period but you can still get in contact with us if you any questions, queries or concerns.
For this week and from week beginning Monday 20th April, we plan for our office to be open to take calls related to any queries or questions you may have. Our office number is 01216752611. Please ensure you call between 8.30am and 3pm. Please leave a message if no one answers and someone will try and get back to you as soon as possible
While the school is closed and also over the Easter period you can contact using the email address - closure@allcroft.bham.sch.uk. The email address will be checked on regularly by either Paula Weaver or Rebecca Timms and we will try and get back to you as soon as we can. Both Paula Weaver and Rebecca Timms are Designated Safeguarding Leads so if you need to contact us regarding any safeguarding concerns then please use this email address in the first instance. In addition to this, if you are worried about a child’s safety, you can contact Children’s Services- Birmingham MASH: 0121 303 1888
We will also send out letters/texts as and when we have any new updates from school or from the Government.

Fri 20 Mar 2020We appreciate that this information only applies to a small percentage of our school community and want to take this opportunity to
thank you all for your overwhelming support. You have all been amazing and we are so very grateful.
As per the confirmed government guidance, we will still be providing care on-site for children of parents/carers classified as ‘keyworkers’ and for those children deemed vulnerable.
Government guidance: If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be.
The government have now issued guidance on exactly which job roles fall into this category.
For those who meet the criteria outlined below, we are requesting that you follow the link- https://forms.gle/M3A58RdwKL89kFes8 confirming what role you are in as a key worker if you want to request a place in our on-site care provision. Please read the informationbelow before you determine if you are eligible for the on-site care.

If one parent is a key worker, they will have the option to have their child(ren) in school. If you can cater for your child at home (partner is not a key worker, older siblings etc.) then please do this.
If you are a single-parent key-worker, you will of course be able to send your child to school and we discourage anybody considering family members over the age of 70 being used to support with childcare.
For now, to enable us to proceed as efficiently as possible, we need anyone who meets the above ‘Key Worker’ criteria to confirm their role and if they require our on-site care, please follow the link https://forms.gle/M3A58RdwKL89kFes8.
This needs to be completed as a matter of urgency before 12pm today, to see if we can offer a reduced hours service on-site care from next week.
Without this confirmation, we will assume that you have taken the decision to care for your child at home or are not eligible. If key workers think they fall within the critical categories above they should confirm with their employer that, based on their business
continuity arrangements, their specific role is necessary for the continuation of this essential public service.

January Roundup
Wed 12 Feb 2020Year 3 children shared their fantastic assembly about Chinese New Year and Year 5 performed their very funny and informative assembly about their topic, Egyptians. It was great to see confident, happy children, dancing, acting and narrating.
Congratulations to our Basketball Team who won the South Birmingham Primary School’s Basketball League. We are really proud of them all!
There have been lots of educational visits too. Reception have visited the local pet shop and have had visits from people who help us like the vet, the fire service and a doctor. Year 3 have been to the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Year 3 and Turtles have been to the Hippodrome to watch Snow White and Year 4 have been to Symphony Hall to take part in the Primary Prom. Last Friday, the whole school created artwork to celebrate Shakespeare Portrait Day.
