Lunches

At Allens Croft Primary School, we want the school meal experience to be very important for our pupils. Our catering team and the school staff work hard to ensure we provide good food that is not only healthy but also tasty and attractive.

Our menus:

  • Comply with the Government Standards for school meals.
  • Offer two main courses a day, one of which will always be non-meat.
  • A sandwich or wrap alternative will also be available daily.
  • Offer a choice of two vegetables every day.
  • Offer a choice of two potato/carbohydrate choices every day.
  • Offer a homemade pudding every day.
  • As an alternative to the homemade pudding we will also offer yoghurts  and fresh fruit every day.
  • Traditional roasts are available weekly
  • Friday is our Pizza Day.
  • We also have a theme day every term.
  • We plan to publish a weekly menu in advance so that you can plan meals at home and these menus will be available on the school website.

To help our children make the right choices we would be grateful if you would discuss the menus with your child/children and support us to encourage them to try and enjoy the lunchtime experience.

Meals cost £2.50 per day (£12.50 per week). If your child requires a school meal we need information on Monday each week about your child’s meal requirements, along with payment. This will give the kitchen the information they require to plan for meals in the week.

Please notify the office staff immediately of any changes to your child’s meal requirements. This will ensure that you are correctly charged.

As a school we work with pupils to promote the benefits of a healthy balanced diet. We feel it is very important to equip pupils with ways to establish healthy eating habits. We provide high quality food education and we want our food to be a high standard as well to help ensure food messages are consistent during the school day.

If you think your child may be entitled to a free meal please contact the school office for details. Please support our meals.
