Pupil Premium

What is Pupil Premium?

Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.  The amount received is dependent on the number of children who are eligible and have claimed for free school meals at any time in the last six years (this categorisation changed in 2012).  All schools are required to report on the amount of funding and how this is being used.  For more details on the pupil premium, please visit the Department for Education website.

Statement of intent

We have strong values that guide the actions of both staff and pupils to provide an education that develops a pupil’s personality, talents and abilities to ensure they are equipped to participate and contribute as a successful member of society.  All staff in the school understand that it is our collective responsibility to inspire our pupils and engage them in their learning, set aspirational targets and encourage teamwork and collaboration.  Through our ambitious and engaging curriculum, we strongly believe that we can support all pupils, including our most disadvantaged, to make good progress and achieve the best possible outcomes.

Our strategy and the approaches outlined within it complement each other to ensure the best outcomes for our disadvantaged pupils.
