Year 4 Learning Blog
This is where you can find out everything that we have doing in Year 4.
In maths, we have been focusing on place value. We are now looking at thousands and we can order and compare numbers up to 10000.
In our English lessons, we have written a character description. 4S wrote about their favourite Roald Dahl characters and 4P created their own character. The children worked hard to come up with interesting adjectives to describe their character's appearance and personality. We have now begun looking at biographies and by October half term we will have created a biography about Roald Dahl.
In Science, our topic is Living Things and the children have been categorising animals using Venn diagrams and classification keys.
4S have been lucky enough to work with Miss Taylor from the Birmingham Hippodrome. We talked about Black Lives Matter and created drama pieces based on this.
4P have worked hard on their computing skills, learning how to use Word, practised their times tables on TTRS and started coding.
All of the Year 4 children have started their ukulele lessons and have learnt how to hold the ukulele correctly and three chords. We can't wait to start learning a song to go with our ukulele playing.
Miss Beastall visits our class to teach us PSHE/RSE.
In Autumn 1, we spent a day focusing on Mental Heath and another day talking about Friendship. We listen to stories and share ideas and feelings with our classmates.
In Autumn 2, we have thought about respect and the importance of families.
