Year 5 Assembly on Yom Kippur 2012

On Wednesday 26th September Year 5 led the school assembly. They informed the school and visiting parents about the most important festival in the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur.

They asked children and parents to consider the concept of forgiveness as this plays a major role at this time for people of the Jewish faith. They performed their own retelling of Jonah and the Whale and discussed the key elements of the festival.
