Home Learning Packs- School Closure 2020

Update: 29.04.2020

Home Learning

We hope that the recent guidance about routines and structures we sent out last week has been helpful.  It is great to see and hear about so many children using BGFL 365 online learning platform or accessing their home learning packs and other exciting activities that they have been doing.  Please remember if you have any password difficulties please email passwordsupport@allcroft.bham.sch.uk. Any other queries or questions can be emailed to closure@allcroft.bham.sch.uk. Mr Wallace has also created video tutorial's for you to access the learning platform easily and this can be found https://www.allcroft.bham.sch.uk/website/bgfl365_online_learning_help_videos/473383

Our website has lots of resources and links for the children to use if they want to access additional activities, online learning platforms and games-   https://www.allcroft.bham.sch.uk/website/home_learning_packs_closure_2020_covid-19/462470

Home Learning Activities

From Monday 20th April, your child will be provided with activities that they can do online through our BGFL365 learning platform. There are also some great websites and Apps that can support your child’s learning within this platform. We have also attached the guidance again to set up your child’s account if you haven’t already done so. If you have misplaced your child’s username or password then please email passwordsupport@allcroft.bham.sch.uk.

If your child can not complete the online learning tasks due to not being able to access the internet or technology, please let us know by contacting the school or sending an email.  Also, if you want to make sure your children are not overdoing screen time, then board or card games, drawing, reading, baking, helping with household chores and art/sports activities are also highly recommended.

Each year group will provide an English and Maths task as well as a topic/project related task as an option to complete each day and these will be shared in their BGFL 365 files at the beginning of each week. Please encourage your children to read a text (or share a story with them) every day.

Safer internet use:

As children may be spending more time online at home, please can we ask that you visit the website https://saferinternet.org.uk/  The website has resources for families, young people and schools that will be of particular use at this time.  Childline (0800 11 11 or www.childline.org.uk) offers help and advice about a wide range of issues that children may experience. It has some great resources for children to access linked to their feelings at this difficult time, online safety and other worries they may have.
