Year 2 Christmas Assembly

Year 2 performed a stunning range of Christmas and Winter-themed songs and dances with enthusiasm, which inspired raucous parental applause! They knew exactly what to do and when to do it, sang up really well and brought tears to our eyes with their beautiful snowflake dancing. Well done Year 2! Read some of the children's comments below...

Nativity Performance

Reception, Year 1 and Terrapins worked together to create a stunning Nativity show. They sang up beautifully, the actors performed their lines with conviction and the dancing was a treat - especially the sheep wiggling their bottoms! This was the first year reception have danced on the stage and they were so sensible and kept each other safe at all times - we were really proud! Thanks to all the teachers, who helped the children learn lines and songs and know what to do at the right time. Thanks also to Charlotte, our learning officer from the Birmingham Hippodrome, who helped reception to put their dances together.

Year 6 Talent Show

This year's Year 6 Talent Show was an absolute treat! We are so lucky to have so many talented children who are confident to show us what they can do in front of a hall full of children, parents and teachers. The auditions were amazing and then the final showcase was received with rapturous applause! The winners were:

1st Place (Gold): Comedy Talent Show Act

2nd Place (Silver): You Should See Me In a Crown

3rd Place (Bronze): The Greatest Show

King Edwards School Concert Party

On Friday 18th October, we were lucky to receive a visit from our friends in the King Edwards Concert Party. They have been visiting our school for a number of years now and we always look forward to the aural treats they share with us!
Dr Leigh wondered where the music was and made us think about how sound is created and put together to make music. We look forward to their next visit next year!

Looking forward to Shakespeare Week 2020....

Following on from the previous two years' success, in March 2020 Allens Croft will be taking part in Shakespeare Week, which is organised by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. This year's story will be A Midsummer Night's Dream and there are might be some opportunities to work alongside some other schools this year so watch this space.....

In the meantime, see if you can spot any familiar faces in the video below, which explains some of the benefits of taking part!
