At Allens Croft Primary School we take the safety and welfare of our pupils very seriously. We all have a responsibility to notice when a child may be at risk of harm and pass our concerns to someone who can act to protect them.
If you have concerns about the safety of one of our pupils please speak with one of our Duty Safeguarding Leads (DSLs). Our DSLs are:
Assistant Head/ Inclusion Lead/ SENCo/Lead DSL
Inclusion Team Support/DSL
All staff (including supply agency staff), students and volunteers need a current DBS certificate to work to work at Allens Croft and a copy of this is logged. Staff will also be asked to give the office copies of qualifications, a DBS record and proof of identification.
Any concerns of allegations about a child's welfare will be recorded in accordance to procedure and in serious cases; the Safeguarding Multi Agency Team of the Local Authority will be informed. Parents will usually be informed if Children's Services are to be involved in any investigations.
Please note that under the requirements of the Children's Act 1989, the school is required to report to the Local Authority's Children's Services any injuries found on children at school.
Our staff and governors have been trained on safeguarding in line the the KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE IN EDUCATION document and have taken part in 'PREVENT'. You can read our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy below.
