We received news from Arts Council England to say that we had been awarded the GOLD Artsmark as a result of our work within the Creative Arts. The panel said:
The panel commend the evidence you have provided to demonstrate the impact the arts have had on the whole school, and your strong ambitions to continue to develop. Establishing a Creative Arts policy has supported the raising of the arts as a priority alongside literacy and maths. High quality CPD, and excellent collaborative partnerships to develop units of work are clear strengths.
The panel look forward to seeing your strong commitment to the arts shared through a leadership role within school networks.
As a Gold Artsmark school Arts Council England celebrates your commitment to arts and cultural education at a leadership level and the opportunities embedded across your provision. Your children and young people have equal opportunity to plan, experience, participate in, and evaluate a diverse range of high-quality arts and cultural activities and you recognise the importance of development opportunities delivered by specialists for your staff in these areas. You engage with a range of arts and cultural organisations and can evidence the positive impact of these partnerships. Your children and young people have an opportunity to further develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of arts and culture and you are working to share the expertise you have established.
We are really proud of our achievement and the former Arts Council, who helped to steer some of our key Arts events, were invited to an exclusive party to celebrate. We are now looking forward to helping support our local school networks to develop their arts offer as we continue on our journey towards the Platinum award!
